Palestinian-American Youth Liberated Following Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

A Palestinian-American teenager having endured a nine-month period in Israeli detention without being charged was released.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 at the time of his arrest this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.
United States authorities applauded the news of Mohammed's release.
Mohammed, now 16, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, family members reported.
Family described him as pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.
Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "immense relief".
Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.
"At this moment, our priority is providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances for months."
American authorities stated they would maintain to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.
{"The Trump Administration gives utmost importance than the safety and security of US citizens"," the department emphasized.
Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to the state department and the administration, urging greater action for his freedom.
Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop from Florida, previously claimed his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.
He had not seen nor direct contact since the arrest, learning information solely what had happened to him via legal paperwork.
The teenager remained absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility on the West Bank.
It is also home to adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities and murder.
There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, per correctional service statistics.
Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, report instances of mistreatment and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, family representatives announced relatives would persist in advocating seeking justice for their relative Sayfollah Musallet.
The dual national youth according to health authorities succumbed to assault by Israeli settlers during a confrontation during summer.
Initially, defense forces stated authorities were looking into accounts of a Palestinian had been killed.
The two cousins collaborated at their family's ice cream business from Tampa.
No charges have been filed with Sayfollah's killing.
"We demand United States leadership to safeguard our relatives," the uncle stated.
